Our History
F.C. United Soccer is a Christian, homeschool team that first started in 2005 as a summer training program. Over the years we have slowly built a core team that has played many seasons in indoor soccer, but our goal from the very beginning was launching an outdoor team that would one day compete at the competitive and high school level. That day is now!
This year (2011) we will finally launch our outdoor team for the spring season in traveling rec and by 2012 we will have a full-fledged soccer program and team for high school boys. We hope you will join us and our mission.
Our Values
It is sad to see so many sports teams and organizations struggle today because their focus is ONLY on winning – sometimes at all costs including cheating or violence. It is equally disturbing to some watch parents berate their children in the effort to make them into superstars or quality players. This is not who we are at all and we will not tolerate such behavior.
F.C. United is a competitive program whose focus is playing and operating in a way that honors God. We believe you can have a healthy competitive spirit and do so in a way that exemplifies Jesus Christ. We do this through the following:
- Christ Centered: Everything we do is for His Glory
- Respect: Everyone in our organization will respect coaches, referees, players, and spectators.
- Sportsmanship: We play the game with excellence and great sportsmanship.
- Commitment: Coaches, players, and parents who invest in the mission are an integral part of what we do.
- Teamwork: There is no “I” in team. We are all unified in the goals of our team and program.
Coaches:
James Dalman has been coaching recreational to competitive soccer levels, and all ages, for 25 years. He is half Dutch and learned the beautiful playing style that the Dutch players are known for all over the world. Dalman has coached three players to win All State Players of the Year, with one being selected to play professional football as a field goal kicker.
James loves the game of soccer and believes in coaching players on more than finesse soccer skills – he desires that all his players develop great character, learn excellent sportsmanship, the value of team work, and how to show respect for all people on and off the field.
